Uses For Vegetable Glycerin

Glycerin is a source of pride for chemical industries because of its variety of uses. Glycerin naturally occurs in combination with other substances -- in animal fats or vegetable oils. It is a thick, colorless liquid, sweet but odorless. Vegetable glycerin is one of the most common components in soap making.

Glycerin soaps are popular with people who have sensitive skin because it gives moisture without causing excessive dryness. Glycerin and soap production are highly dependent with each other as the former is a product of saponification. Earnings from glycerin production is economically beneficial for soap production as well.
